Key Takeaways -
For teams that just moved remote, you need to over communicate. Whatever your cadence of team communication was before implementing a work from home set-up - we promise you - it’s not enough now. You should probably be meeting for more than just a weekly 1:1 with your direct reports.
A lot of what your team is dealing with in their personal lives in uncontrollable. They are juggling constant stimulation from work and life. It may make sense to measure your sales reps, account executives, account managers, etc. on metrics they can control. Especially if outcomes are uncertain, measuring them on inputs and efforts may be a smarter move.
In terms of your tool stack, think about it as an accountability stack. As a leader, you need to provide a path to success for your rep and a properly implemented and leveraged tool stack can help you accomplish that.
We’re in unprecedented times and as a leader you need to lead with empathy. This includes checking in on your team before you dive into any type of meeting. A simple ‘How are you feeling?’ will work great.
